AP Statistics

Each class I will post homework that is due for the next day. If for some reason homework is not posted, THAT DOES NOT MEAN you do not have homework! You need to take the initiative to email or message me in the Remind App that I have not posted homework yet. Also, as covered in the syllabus, homework is due and will only be accepted the class after which the assignment was given, and only during the period I am checking for homework. If you are tardy or absent you must show me your homework upon return to class, and that homework will only be accepted the first day you have returned to class. You must take the initiative to bring your homework to me if you have tardy or absent.

CHAPTER 6 TEST on Tuesday, February 12, 2019CHAPTER 6 TEST on Tuesday, February 12, 2019

Here's a good review from Khan Academy. I'd go through and do the 4-5 quizzes plus Unit Test they offer.....and then they'll give you specific topic names of things you struggle with so you can then do the specific practice topics to sharpen your skills. I can arrive early tomorrow morning, if needed, so message me on Remind if you'd like to come in early on Tuesday morning for a little study/cram session.

**Homework for Friday, January 25th, 2019**Page 6 and 7 of notes, numbers #12 and #13.

**Chapter 5 MIDTERM Review Material**1. Probability Model = Sample Space + Probabilities assigned to each outcome

2. Probability Rules --> There are 5 of these, summarized in your Chapter 5, Section 2 Notes on page 3

3. Be able to prove given sample space & probabilities make a legitimate probability model.

4. Probability Calculations

(a) P(AUB) --> are A and B mutually exclusive? If yes, P(AUB) = P(A) + P(B). If no, P(AUB) = P(A) + P(B) - P(A and B)

(b) Conditional Probabilities where P(A|B) = P(A and B)/P(B). The general multiplication rule can be applied here.

(c) Independence IS present when the P(A|B) = P(A). Therefore, IF independence is present, the P(A and B) = P(A) x P(B)

5. Two-way tables & Venn diagrams.

__Below is a PDF attachment entitled "Chapter 5 Practice Test - Probability with a comprehensive review of Chapter 5 topics. You__

**NOTE #1)**should begin working through these this weekend and determine where you are comfortable and where you struggle with the
